Real Tequila can only be produced in the following places in Mexico; all of the municipalities of the state of Jalisco, eight of the states of Nayarit, seven of the states of Guanajuato, thirty of the states of Michoacán and eleven municipalities of the states of Tamaulipas. They are the only places suitable for the cultivation of the Blue Weber Agave, which Tequila is made from.
Tequila is a specific type of mezcal, which is obtained from Blue Weber Agave, while mezcal in it’s different varieties can be obtained from fourteen different types of agave.
